We are David and John AKA the Puglia Paddy's, and welcome to our first blog. To tell you a little bit about ourselves, we met in 2003 on a blind date (although Dave brought three friends for backup and judgement). We currently live in Co Kildare in Ireland with our three dogs.
Like many Irish people at the moment, we are feeling the pinch of interest rates increasing and inflation sprawling all over everything we touch. If you turn your back on a tin of beans, chances are that the price would have increased by the time you pick it up.
With this in mind, we have decided to take stock of our lives and explore our options. One of our options is a pretty big one, but also our favorite option. Moving to Italy!!!! We are particularly interested in the Puglia region, around the beautiful city of Ostuni (The White City).
So step 1: Selling our house: The scariest bit, lets see how we get on in the next Blog.

Hi guys, I live in Torre Santa Sabina, by the beach that belongs to Carovigno, it is the next town after Ostuni. It takes me 10 min to get to Ostuni and 7 min to Carovigno! We moved here exactly 4 years ago on the 28th! We came from Canada but I am originally Dutch, so I have an EU passport! We lived 40 years in British Columbia Canada ! I am here with my daughter and grandson! We bought a nice house that needed lots of work and Covid in between . So lots of challenges but we have a great location with a gorgeous view. You can see pictures on our Airbnb site! If you want to see where we are! Would love to meet you and we have a coffee group on Tuesday mornings in Santa Sabina at 10:00. Please come and look us up!! We have English, lots of Dutch, American and German and Australian people! You have my email, so feel free to connect! Am on Facebook:Annemieke van Nes. Airbnb is Casa Libellula!
Hi, that sounds amazing. We would love to meet for a coffee. Do you have a website or Facebook page we could share? Casa Libellula sounds beautiful
Hi David and Kevin.Margaret here from Dublin. I'll be staying in Ostuni 14th-21st May 2024.Any advice on a tour of Monopoli as I really want to see it. It's my 1st time to Puglia . Many thanks. Ciao .
Hi Margaret
How are you? Is it your first time here? My biggest advice it to rent a car, its so cheap and you get to see everywhere. Would you consider it? If not, there are tours on Facebook that do say trips, it would take you to Monopoly and Polignano Di Mare which you have to see. I'll just have a look and send you the link :)
